Vote Progressive in 2014

I am a Democrat because I believe in progressive values. I believe in universal healthcare for all. I believe in a living wage, strong unions, and full equal rights for all. This is why I will be voting blue in 2014.

The Democratic Party stands for everything I believe in and I am proud to be standing with the Democrats this election year.

I will be voting for Marti Nerenstone for Iowa House District 16. Marti is a progressive who has long been an advocate for children and the least of theses. She is an attorney and an Army Veteran. She will be a great representative for our community.

I will be voting for Staci Appel for U.S. Congress. Staci fought for progressive values when she was a Iowa State Senator, where she fought for middle class families, farmers and small business owners.  She was a leader in the passage of a bill to make Iowa the first state to require equal pay for equal work.

I will also be voting for Bruce Braley for U.S. Senate. Bruce is a strong progressive who is currently serving in the U.S. Congress. He is an advocate for Veterans and the middle class. Bruce is also a strong supporter of a living wage and equal pay for equal work. Bruce has long been an advocate for equal rights.

“I have always been proud to support our brothers and sisters in the LGBT community. As a member of the LGBT Equality Caucus, I’ve worked hard to sponsor and support efforts to make sure all Americans – no matter who they love – are equal under the law,” Bruce Braley.

In addition, I am so proud to have been an organizing fellow for Organizing for America (Obama campaign) during 2012. I am so proud because I helped re-elect the first African American President and one who really worked hard for the least of these. Not to forget he was the first sitting President to come out in support of equal marriage for all.
